Since it's introduction in the
mid 1960's the Imperial "Original" has been regarded as the
"Rolls Royce" of tournament horseshoes. In the first years of
existence it gained the favor of the top players and won State, National and
World championships. In 1968 Elmer Hohl of Canada used Imperials when he set the
all time record for the highest ringer percentage ever in the Men's division of
the World Tournament. That record of 88.2 percent still stands today as well as
countless championships by many top players right up to now. This is a proven
horseshoe that has earned it's great reputation.

winning her fourth Women's World Champion in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in August, 2010!
Joan was 18-1 and pitched 79.50% ringers in the finals! There is no doubt
that she is surely on her way to becoming one of the all-time great players in

Horseshoe did the job... well, maybe Joan helped it a little bit... but
still, another impressive victory for an Imperial pitcher, right?

Most horseshoes are
made to weigh in at about the official weight of 2-1/2 pounds with
little variance. This shoe is different. It is available
in three specific weight ranges, which you can choose from... Light
weight is aprox. 2 lbs. 4 oz. to 2 lbs 5 oz., Medium weight is
approximately 2 lbs. 7.5 oz to 2 lbs. 8.7 oz. and Heavy weight is
approx. 2 lbs. 8.8 oz up to 2 lbs. 10 oz. Most all players
select medium, which is the"official" weight. If you select
"no preference" for the weight, we'll send you something right in
the mid range of what's currently in stock.
Note: If you want
to order multiple pairs of the same item with different colors and
weights on each you will have to enter the items individually into
the cart. by color and weight. But don't worry, the appropriate quantity discount will
still be applied.
