Minutes, EHC Meeting on 9/8/05:

 Openining and officer reports:
The meeting was called to order at 7:08 PM by the Club President (RF White).  The Secretary (RD White) read the minutes from the previous meeting on 3/5/05.  Bob DeCecco motioned to accept the minutes as read—motion carried.  The Treasurer (Ruby Church) read the financial report for the months of March '05 through August ‘05.  Joe Marschak motioned to accept the financial report as read—motion carried.  Bob DeCecco reported on status of Federal Street and the remaining property from the old horseshoe courts on Shunpike… it is no longer available as the city has decided to grant the whole parcel including Federal Street to EMTA instead of the horseshoe club.  It’s reported that they will build some sort of transportation hub on the site.  Bob DeCecco also reported on an opportunity with the proposed Salvation Army Complex in Summit Township… They are planning for nine indoor horseshoe courts in the facility if they receive the entire grant for the planned expansion project.

Tournament Director, Sally Siegel, reported that the Erie County Open tournament will be held on Saturday 9/17/05.  October 15th & 16th is the first indoor tournament of the season and sign ups are posted for both.

Old Business:   None

New Business:
Ruby Church motioned to open the charter to vote on pending new members.  That motion carried.  The nineteen pending new members were as follows: Glenn Hepp, Jim Perry, Frank Garczynski, Rita Garczynski, Paula Garczynski, John Garczynski, Marty Daubert, Cindy Daubert, Roseanne Thompson, Ivan Thompson III, Dick Ferguson, Howard Mills, Dennis Wilson, Doug Bailey, Gordon Lindahl, John Kelly, Ray Garczynski, Garry Stevens and Tom Krasowski All new memberships were voted on separately and all were approved.  Robert D. White motioned to close the charter to new membership—motion carried.

No elections required, but League Director position is still vacant.  Bob DeCecco volunteered for “Sunshine Club Director” and publicity director.

 Sally Siegel Proposed a second summer tournament in August (26th & 27th)… tournament proposal passed.

 Joe marschak expressed thanks to Jim Spiece, Gordy Gaither and Ken Bickel who all helped to bring in new clay to the indoor courts.

 Sam Stafford motioned to donate $200 to flood victims in LA & MS- motion carried.

 Rich Kuchcinski motioned to adjourn at 8:37 PM- motion carried.
