Note: if you're looking at sets elsewhere, be aware that most sets you buy do not come with official stakes. If they are not 1-inch diameter stakes, they are not official stakes. Most backyard sets on the market come with 3/4-inch diameter stakes and they are usually only 24 inches long. The official rules call for a 1-inch diameter stake 14 to 15 inches high. On one of those cheapo stakes, that only leaves you 9 inches in the ground... With less than half the stake in the ground, how many times can you hit that before you knock it over? Answer: not very many! Our stakes hold up pretty well in normal ground and they won't go anywhere if you use one of the permanent mounting options described in the "General info on the game" section from the info center tab on the navigation menu above.
